CHALLENGE

The client was packaging each pallet of pellets twice with a 120 μm stretch-hood (a total of 240 μm of film per pallet). The reason was the long export route to Southern Europe — pallets were stored outdoors, repeatedly reloaded, and exposed to intense sunlight. Despite double packaging, complaints arose regarding print fading on pellet bags due to UV exposure, as well as high packaging costs per pallet and an extended packaging cycle.

SOLUTION

NEX-HOOD HQ 90 μm — one hood instead of two, in a 5-layer variant with enhanced mechanical strength, featuring a UV absorber to protect the pellet bags inside the pallet and a UV stabilizer to extend film lifespan during outdoor storage.
