FFS bags and stretch hoods for producers of fertilizers, crop protection products and horticultural substrates. Films calculated for the season: months of outdoor storage, sun, frost, repeated reloading. The result we measure: zero complaints about fading and moisture, less film per bag and per pallet, an FFS line with no film breaks at the peak of the season.

What goes wrong in fertilizers

The fertilizer season is a few weeks in which the FFS line has to run flat out, and every film break is a loss that cannot be made up. The second problem: a pallet of bags stands outdoors at the distributor from March to June. The print fades, the red in the logo disappears first, and fertilizer under film without UV stabilisation loses its properties. The third: 20-25 kg bags of granulate with sharp edges puncture thin film, so the producer “packs thicker to be safe” and pays for microns it does not need.

What we measure instead of price per kg

The number of film breaks per shift at the peak of the season, film cost per bag and per pallet, the number of complaints from distributors (fading, moisture, collapsed pallets) and whether the line kept its speed after the film change. Plus planning: does the supplier deliver on time before the season, or only during it.

Which NEX films

NEX-BAG FFS HQ: 5 layers with mLLDPE, increased puncture resistance, a downgauging version, flexo printing up to 10 colours with UV-resistant inks. NEX-BAG FFS P with a de-aeration system (micro-perforation) for dusty products. NEX-HOOD NHD in an opaque white version with UV stabiliser and absorber: a hood that is still a brand carrier after three months in the yard. Versions with 30-35% PCR for export requirements.

Proof from implementations

Who we are for, and who we are not

For producers packing on FFS machines and stretch hood wrappers, from 5 tonnes of film a year, with a season that has to be planned in advance. We propose a framework contract with a delivery schedule before the season, because in April nobody has time for trials. For agricultural distributors hand-packing small runs, a packaging wholesaler is the better address.

Next step

Technical form: product (granulate, powder, substrate), bag weight, FFS machine, current thickness and season date. We come back with a proposed structure and a trial roll, so that the test takes place before the peak, not during it.

A printed bag or hood for the season? Inks and UV stabilisation selected for the exposure time in the yard, printing up to 10 colours. See NEX PRINT: printed bags and films from the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to start film trials before the fertilizer season?

3 to 4 months before the peak. A test roll takes up to 60 days if the structure has to be developed from scratch, faster with an existing formulation. A test on your line, correction, then a framework contract with a delivery schedule.

Will the print on the hood survive several months in the yard?

Yes, if the inks, the UV stabiliser in the film and the absorber are selected for the exposure time and colour. Red is the hardest; in the fertilizer producer case we solved it without changing the packing line.

What is the minimum volume?

Optimal conditions start at approx. 5 tonnes a year per item. Given the seasonality of fertilizers we propose a framework contract: we reserve capacity before the season, you call off in batches.
