Printed shrink films for multipacks of water, soft drinks, juices and beer, and for securing pallets. Designed for the parameters of your sealer and shrink tunnel, not the other way round. The result we measure: thinner film at the same shrink, fewer defects on the line, and a pack that looks on the shelf the way marketing planned it.

What goes wrong in bottling plants

A packing line in a bottling plant runs fast and forgives nothing: film that shrinks unevenly distorts the pack windows and produces defects that retail sends back. The second problem is pressure on material cost per pack at thousands of packs an hour, where every micron is real money, but a film change risks a drop in line output. The third: PCR and PPWR targets, where the technologist hears that “recyclate ruins the shrink” and shelves the topic until a retailer tender forces it.

What we measure instead of price per kg

Film cost per pack, the percentage of shrink defects on the line, line output (OEE) before and after the film change, the number of damaged packs and pallets in transit. We compare 33 µm film with 50 µm in one unit: money per pack at the same number of defects.

Which NEX films

NEX-SHRINK ST for standard collation packaging. NEX-SHRINK HR with high gloss, controlled shrinkage and thermal resistance up to approx. 70 °C: premium multipacks and pallets that stand in a hot trailer. Versions with 35% PCR calibrated for the parameters of the sealer and tunnel, with no change of settings. NEX PRINT: flexo printing up to 10 colours designed “with shrink in mind”, so that the artwork lands in the windows after the tunnel. Width 2100-2350 mm, tube, half-tube, sheet.

Proof from implementations

  • Beverage producer: premium multipack, 10-colour print and film downgauged to approx. 33 µm, consistent look on the shelf, fewer rejects on the line.
  • Glassworks: from 130 to 90 µm (70 µm on part of the deliveries) and an end to bottle breakage in weekend transport.
  • Global home appliance manufacturer: 35% PCR in 50-70 µm films with no loss of shrink and no CAPEX.

Who we are for, and who we are not

For bottling plants and beverage producers with an automated collation packing line, from 5 tonnes of film a year; a typical contract is several dozen to over a hundred tonnes a year with a delivery schedule. For small breweries and bottling plants that pack by hand, a shrink film distributor is the better address.

Next step

A film audit on your line: sealer and tunnel model, pack format, current film and thickness. We come back with a proposal and trial rolls matched to your machine parameters; tested on the line, not in a laboratory.

Printed multipack? Artwork prepared with shrink distortion taken into account, up to 10 colours, film and print in one plant. See NEX PRINT: printed films from the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Does changing shrink film mean resetting the sealer and tunnel?

No, provided the film is calibrated for your parameters. This is also how we implement versions with 35% PCR: the home appliance manufacturer case went through with no CAPEX and no line modifications.

How thin can you go in a multipack?

On selected beverage lines down to approx. 33 µm while keeping the shrink profile and the look of the pack. The limit is set by your format and tunnel, which is why we start with a film audit on the line, not with a catalogue.

Do you print on shrink film?

Yes, flexo up to 10 colours in our own NEX PRINT printing house. We prepare the artwork with shrinkage taken into account, so that the graphics land in the pack windows after the tunnel.
