NEX-SHRINK Solution: Formulations with optimized shrinkage in both directions (MD/TD), tailored to the customer’s specific tunnel and product geometry. We eliminate burn marks, uneven sides on glass and appliance pallets, and “dog ears” at package corners.

NEX-SHRINK Solution: Optimization of thickness vs. shrink temperature – film selection allowing tunnel temperature reduction and gas/energy consumption without loss of shrink force. Downgauging possible while maintaining package mechanical properties.

Film unwinds poorly from roll – adhesion, blocking, tearing on packaging machine

NEX-SHRINK Solution: Proper selection of additive package (slip, antiblock, antistatic) and winding temperature control, matched to line speed and sealer type. Stable film cutting even on older packaging machines.

NEX-SHRINK Solution: Film with properly selected shrink memory and dimensional stability – after shrinking, maintains holding force over time, despite vibrations and temperature changes in road transport. HR variant for the most mechanically demanding applications.

Requirement for one film across different machine fleet + PCR implementation

Most Frequent Technical Questions

What tunnel temperature is optimal for NEX-SHRINK ST?

Standard heat-shrink films prefer lower temperatures and longer shrink time – we go the opposite way: dedicated NEX-SHRINK formulation allows working shorter and at higher temperature, which translates to shorter cycle, higher line efficiency, and lower energy cost per package. Exact set-point is selected for customer’s tunnel during trials.

Is NEX-SHRINK suitable for full-size pallets?

Absolutely. Pallet shrink technology is our heritage dating back to the 2000s, when NEX-SHRINK developed as a film for pallet hoods, among others. Today we also supply it in variants with reduced thickness and PCR content, maintaining full functionality on full-size pallets.

What is the difference between NEX-SHRINK ST and HR?

The main difference is visual and shelf-related: HR provides significantly higher gloss, better clarity, and more “premium” multipack appearance on retail shelf, with higher shrinkage and better package stability in transport. ST is an economical base for typical collective packages where appearance is not critical.

Is NEX-SHRINK film compatible with recycling?

Yes – the entire NEX-SHRINK line is compatible with PE/PO stream recycling. PCR can be added to each variant (ST, HR, GP, Appliances) or ISCC PLUS certified raw materials can be used, within the scope consistent with the final application.

Can NEX-SHRINK be printed and with what quality?

Yes – flexo CI up to 10 colors in integration with NEX PRINT. Printing is designed with shrinkage in mind, so graphics maintain proportions and sharpness after shrinking – crucial for retail multipacks and branded appliance packages.

How do you select film for my line and product?

We base selection on three dimensions: product type (PET, glass, appliances, dimensions), tunnel parameters (type, length, speed, heat source), and logistics requirements (transport, storage, UV exposure). Based on this, we select variant (ST/HR/GP/Appliances), thickness, and additive package, and validate parameters during customer trials.

What sustainable variants are available in NEX-SHRINK?

We offer: PCR variants (post-consumer recycled), ISCC PLUS raw materials (mass balance), downgauging (thickness reduction while maintaining functionality).
