What goes wrong at converters

“The same film” from two suppliers gives a different result on the machine: different surface cleanliness, different hot tack, a different seal window, so the printer adjusts the machine for every delivery. The second problem: difficult applications. Fatty sauces, spice dust, coffee in the seal zone, where standard film gives more than ten percent rejects and the end customer threatens to change supplier. The third: PPWR. FMCG customers demand mono-PE structures, and a PE/PE laminate does not seal like PET/PE, so the converter cannot promise the same line output.

What we measure instead of price per kg

The percentage of seal rejects at the end customer, the width of the seal window (temperature, time), hot tack in milliseconds, coefficient of friction (COF) and repeatability between deliveries. Plus custom development time: how many iterations and weeks from brief to a film that works.

Which NEX films

NEX-LAM LS: a wide hot tack window (50-70 ms), seal initiation at 90 °C, a seal that holds with grease and dust contamination. NEX-LAM LM and HM for standard and high-barrier laminates. 5-layer structures with controlled COF for MDO PE/PE. PP films for lamination without PFAS. Samples: test rolls for your machine, custom development in weeks, not months.
