CHALLENGE

The client packaged fertilizer pallets in flexo-printed stretch-hood film. The brand logo featured an intense red, which is one of the most difficult colors to maintain under UV exposure. After several weeks to several months of outdoor storage at distributors, problems arose: fading of the red in the logo, the pallet ceased to function as a brand carrier, lack of visual consistency of pallets in sales networks, and the risk of degradation of the fertilizer product itself due to light exposure.

SOLUTION

NEX-HOOD NHD 70 μm in an opaque white version, with a dedicated film formulation for fertilizer application: flexo print up to 6 colors with specially selected inks offering enhanced UV resistance (with emphasis on red stability), a UV stabilizer in the film itself, and a UV absorber protecting the product inside the pallet. The opaque white film additionally reflects radiation and limits cargo heating. We also optimized the hood thickness from 90 μm to 70 μm, without compromising pallet stabilization parameters.
