We rebuilt the formulation of the NEX-SHRINK shrink sleeve for work at elevated temperatures and went down from 130 to 90 \u00b5m, and to 70 \u00b5m in some deliveries.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"kx-summary\">\n    <div class=\"kx-label\">In brief<\/div>\n    <ul>\n      <li><b>Customer:<\/b> a container glass works, bottles and jars, deliveries to markets including Germany.<\/li>\n      <li><b>Problem:<\/b> after a summer weekend on a trailer the film lost stiffness and bottles broke against the pallet edges.<\/li>\n      <li><b>Solution:<\/b> a formulation with higher thermal stability and better mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, followed by downgauging.<\/li>\n      <li><b>Result:<\/b> 130 \u2192 90 \u00b5m (70 \u00b5m in some deliveries) with full logistic performance and clearly fewer complaints about breakage in international transport.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div class=\"kx-stats\">\n    <div><b>90 \u00b5m<\/b><span>instead of 130 \u00b5m, as standard<\/span><\/div>\n    <div><b>70 \u00b5m<\/b><span>in some deliveries<\/span><\/div>\n    <div><b>approx. 70 \u00b0C<\/b><span>on a trailer in summer, without the film losing stiffness<\/span><\/div>\n    <div><b>\u221231%<\/b><span>film per pallet with the same format*<\/span><\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <h2><span class=\"kx-num\">01<\/span> Customer<\/h2>\n\n  <p>A container glass works producing bottles and jars, with deliveries to markets including Germany. Pallets are secured with a shrink sleeve applied at the cold end and shrunk with hot air. We have worked together for years: the formulation for this glassworks was developed in stages, as routes and the requirements of the glassworks&#8217; customers changed.<\/p>\n\n  <h2><span class=\"kx-num\">02<\/span> Challenge<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Pallets of bottles and jars waited on trailers over the weekend, in full sun in summer. The film heated up to approx. 70 \u00b0C and lost stiffness. The load became loose, and bottles rubbed and broke against the pallet edges, most often in deliveries to the German market.<\/p>\n\n  <p>The glassworks paid for this with complaints and repacking, not for the film itself. This is not a thickness problem but a formulation problem. Thicker film buys a margin, not a solution.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Downgauging is always preceded by a trial on your line and a transport test.
